Gossip and in particular , defaming, embarrassing and ruining someone’s character publicly, especially in front of family and friends,  is one of the worst most terrible things anyone can do to any one else. Why, you may ask? Because once you utter malicious, evil words into the world, can you take back what you have said? In other words, speech is a gift and can be used for good to encourage , help* and strengthen others. If one chooses* to do so it can also be a painful, discouraging and even lethal tool if we decide to use it for evil . If there is one thing I truly ask God that I can perfect myself in is in the proper and positive use of the gift of speech. Life is literally in the words you use.

I always tell myself the following: How would I like to be spoken of by others ? So, I strive* to say only good and positive things about others when they inquire of my family or friends. It is good that people in general realize how important the way they express themselves with words because if we all did practice proper, God-fearing speech the world , in my humble opinion, would be a totally different, more hospitable place.

So before we want to say something negative or hurtful about a friend , family member or colleague about anyone to others, let us bite our tongue and think about the ramifications of what we are about  to say about our fellow brothers and sisters  because once we say something , can you truly take it back? Be it bad or good?

God bless,

Edward F. Villa

Some famous quotes on the power of words are below:

Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that indulge it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Proverbs 18: 21
“Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are endless.”

Mother Theresa(1910-1997)
Be Impeccable With Your Word. Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.”

Don Miguel Ruiz quotes
Kind, compassionate, loving words can not only have the potential to save someone’s life, but  are a kindness that endures the test of time.

Edward F. Villa

“No three words have greater power than I Love You.”
